Dietitian information

When you are battling gallbladder, liver, pancreas or bile duct problems, it is important to understand how your diet can contribute to these problems or aid in your recovery. Through Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, patients at Novant Health Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Specialists have access to expert dietitians who can help you determine what foods to avoid and what foods might help you feel better.

For instance, patients fighting liver disease may benefit from reducing protein and salt intake, while increasing the amount of carbohydrates you eat. Diets high in fat and cholesterol can contribute to the formation of gallstones, while high-fiber foods like fruits, vegetables and who grains might inhibit the formation of gallstones.

At Novant Health Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Specialists, we understand the importance of diet in your overall health, and know we need to do more than hand you a list of foods to eat and foods to avoid if we want those changes to become a regular part of your life. That is why we will connect you with a dietitian if necessary to make healthy changes to benefit your treatment and your life.
